Library History
The Selah Library began in the storeroom of Sudnmeir's Hardware in 1934. The City of Selah contracted with the Yakima Valley Regional Library in 1977 to provide library service. In March, 2005, Selah residents voted to formally annex to the Regional Library system (now Yakima Valley Libraries).
Driving directions
From I-82 southbound:
- From Ellensburg, take Exit #26 (State Highway 821).
- Turn right on Highway 821 and drive North .02 miles.
- Turn left onto Harrison Road. Continue on Harrison Road for 1.9 miles.
- Turn left onto North Wenas Road.
- Proceed South on North Wenas 1.3 miles to East Naches Avenue (stop sign).
- Turn right onto Naches Avenue
- Turn left onto South 2nd Street
- The library is a half block from the intersection on the right (West side) in a brick building.
From I-82 Northbound:
- From Yakima, Take Exit #30A (Highway 823).
- Continue on overpass into Selah, traveling North on 1st Street.
- Turn left at the third stop light, East Naches Avenue.
- Turn left onto South 2nd Street
- The library is a half block from the intersection on the right (West side) in a brick building.
Parking:
There is substantial parking in front of the library building.
