Library History

Built in 1911, the Terrace Heights building served as a school until 1946, when Terrace Heights joined Yakima Valley Regional Library. The building is owned by the Terrace Heights Improvement Association, and is located in the unincorporated area of Yakima County.

Driving directions

From I-82 Northbound:

  1. Take Exit 33, Terrace Heights.
  2. At the end of the ramp, turn right, and stay to the right.
  3. Merge onto Terrace Heights Drive, eastbound.
  4. Continue through Terrace Heights, past the cemetery on the left, and up the hill to the light at 41st Street.
  5. Turn left onto 41st.
  6. Go north one block.
  7. Turn left onto Commonwealth Drive.
  8. The library is in the community hall building immediately to the right.

From I-82 Southbound:

  1. Take Exit 33, Terrace Heights. Stay to the left.
  2. Turn left at the light onto Terrace Heights Drive, eastbound.
  3. Continue through Terrace Heights, past the cemetery on the left, and up the hill to the light at 41st Street.
  4. Turn left onto 41st.
  5. Go north one block.
  6. Turn left onto Commonwealth Drive.
  7. The library is in the community hall building immediately to the right.
  8. From Yakima Library via surface streets:

  9. Take Yakima Avenue over I-82 into Terrace Heights.
  10. You will be on Terrace Heights Drive, eastbound.
  11. Continue through Terrace Heights, past the cemetery on the left, and up the hill to the light at 41st Street.
  12. Turn left onto 41st.
  13. Go north one block.
  14. Turn left onto Commonwealth Drive.
  15. The library is in the community hall building immediately to the right.

Parking:

There is parking in the lot at the west of the building.
