Let’s Talk About Race:
Yakima Valley Libraries to Host Community Conversation about Race and Racism
Yakima, WA – On Thursday, January 16, Yakima Valley Libraries will host a discussion about race and racism as part of Y/Our Story, the library’s current events and community conversation series.
The January 16 session, titled “Let’s Talk About Race,” is designed to be an honest and enlightening community conversation about race and racism, with discussion led by author, former professor, and Humanities Washington speaker, Clyde Ford.
Discussion begins at 6:00pm at the Yakima Central Library.
About the Talk
Meant for people of all races, with a heavy emphasis on audience participation, this talk will provide participants with the tools for engaging in conversations about race in an honest, transparent, and meaningful way.
Though ambitious, this talk aims to make a difference in bridging and healing the racial divide.
