Water Rights Presentation at Yakima Central Library
Yakima, WA –
On Sunday, Yakima Valley Libraries is kicking off a new round of Lawyers in the Library sessions at Yakima Central Library with a presentation on the history and evolution irrigation, water law, and water rights and in the Yakima Valley and the Pacific Northwest.
The talk will be co-presented by attorney Jim Davenport, who will discuss the legal side of water rights, including types of water rights, senior water rights, surface water users and their rights. Davenport is also a member of the YVL Board of Trustees.
YVL Archives Librarian, Terry Walker, will give a detailed overview of the history and uses of the Columbia and Yakima River basins, both of which will be of interest to anyone who enjoys, or would like to learn more about, the history of our region.
The presentation is part of Lawyers in the Library, a free legal aid and information series offered at Yakima Central Library in partnership with the Yakima County Law Library and the Northwest Justice Project.
Sunday’s session begins at 1pm, and will include time for discussion and questions.
