To provide consistency, more clarity and better customer service, Yakima Valley Libraries has streamlined our loan and holding periods.
To minimize confusing due dates, as of June 1st ALL library materials now check out for 21 days. No variations. No exceptions. Everything – 21 days.
Additionally, beginning July 1, 2023, Yakima Valley Libraries’ holding period will change from 14 days to 7 days. This will improve wait times, especially for those very popular titles.
We know that adapting to these changes might be a little tricky, so we want to make sure you know about Library Elf. Library Elf is a web-based tool designed to help you keep track of all the materials you checked out from the library. It can even remind you of holds and pickup dates and automatically renew items that are not on hold, so you don’t have to worry. Do you have more than one library card to manage?
