    Let Library Elf help you manage your library loans, renewals, due dates, and more!

    Library Elf is a free, third-party service that auto-renews your items and sends you real-time text and/or email reminders about your library account  — it’s the personal reminder service you’ve always needed.

    PRIVACY NOTICE: Library Elf is a private, third-party service that is not operated by Yakima Valley Libraries. Library Elf users are required to submit personal information, including library barcode and a library PIN/password. Please read and be sure you understand Library Elf’s privacy policy and frequently asked questions before signing up for this service.

    • Due Date Reminders: Receive an email and/or RSS alerts before items are due
    • Overdue Item(s) Notice: Receive an email and/or RSS alert when items are overdue.
    • Hold Request Notice: Get an email and/or RSS alert when items you have requested are ready for pick-up.
    • Auto-Renewals: Select this option and allow Library Elf to automatically renew your eligible library materials when they’re due. *Note: Lucky Day items, items that have reached the renewal limit, and items that have been requested by other patrons are NOT eligible for the auto-renewal feature.
    • Group/Family Account: Add multiple library cards to one Library Elf account and receive convenient, consolidated reminders and notices for all library cards in a single account.
    • Real-Time Updates: Opt-in to receive text message alerts for holds AND check your library account status in real-time.
    • Yes! Even with a Library Elf account, you will still receive library account notices from Yakima Valley Libraries.
    • Your Library Elf account, and its reminders, notices and alerts are available as an additional, entirely optional service that is separate from your YVL account.
    • The main benefits of using Library Elf include the ability to link multiple library accounts and the option to auto-renew your library loans.
    • Visit Yakima Valley Libraries’ Library Elf sign up form to create an account.
    • You will need the barcode number and PIN/password for each library card that you want to add to your Library Elf account.
    • Select which Library Elf notices you want to receive, and how you want to receive the notices (i.e., email, text, RSS).
