Yakima Valley Library Announces New WIFI at Southeast Community Library
Yakima, WA – Yakima Valley Libraries is pleased to announce that wireless Internet is now available at the Southeast Yakima Community Library (1211 S. 7th St).
While the library location has 13 public computer stations for public use, the addition of wireless Internet means that patrons with a library card and password are now able to access the Internet via their own mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
According to information technology manager Melissa Vickers, the library location is served by cable Internet with sufficient bandwidth to support wireless access. Recent district equipment upgrades made it possible to add a local access point for the installation of wireless Internet.
The upgrades were funded by the library system’s technology budget and aided by the E-rate program, which provides telecommunications and internet discounts to eligible U.S. schools and libraries. For more information contact Melissa Vickers at 509-575-3426.
